Sport
At Long Meadow School we are passionate about sport and believe it can have many benefits to every school experience. I believe that PE can have a positive impact on a child’s physical, mental, emotional and social health in so many ways. At LMS, we believe there is a sport for every child to thrive in and it is my responsibility to give opportunities to the children to help them find it.
Our broad sporting curriculum covers individual and team sports and is widened by our extra-curricular programme of before school, lunchtime and after school clubs on offer to all children. Alongside this we attend sporting events, festivals and fixtures. Giving children opportunities and experiences is important to us, meaning that we aim to have given every child the chance to represent the school in a competitive event against another school by the time they have left us in Year 6.
All upper KS2 children also have the chance to become Sports Leaders. These have roles such as supporting play times and helping to ensure the smooth running of any school events that take place throughout the year such as the annual Christmas Santa Run and Sports Day.
