Train to Teach
At Long Meadow School, we’re committed to fostering the next generation of exceptional teachers. That’s why we’ve established a strong and ongoing partnership with Tommy Flowers SCITT, a highly regarded provider of teacher training programs.
This collaboration allows us to welcome enthusiastic and talented trainees into our classrooms, enriching our school community while supporting their journey towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Tommy Flowers SCITT offers a range of pathways for graduates, catering to diverse needs and experiences. Whether you’re a recent graduate seeking a traditional SCITT route or an experienced professional looking for a fast-track option like the Assessment Only route, there’s a program to suit your aspirations.
Our role in this partnership extends beyond simply providing placements. We’re fully engaged in the training process. Our highly experienced teaching staff act as mentors, offering invaluable guidance and support to trainees throughout their program.
Mentors play a crucial role in shaping new teachers. They provide one-on-one support, observe classroom practice, and offer constructive feedback. This personalised approach ensures trainees feel confident and prepared to take on the responsibilities of a qualified teacher.
The benefits of this partnership are multifaceted. Trainees gain exposure to a dynamic school environment under the watchful eyes of experienced mentors. They learn from seasoned professionals, honing their teaching skills and pedagogical knowledge, all while learning about new developments in teaching and learning from the team at Tommy Flowers SCITT.
This two-way exchange fosters a culture of continuous learning and growth within our school. We believe in nurturing the next generation of educators, and our partnership with Tommy Flowers SCITT allows us to play a part in shaping the future of the profession.
